Game 56: Bulls 93, Celtics 86

6 Apr 2012

Three Stars (leaderboard)
1. Luol Deng: 26 points (.530 TS%), 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals
2. Joakim Noah: 17 points (.936 TS%), 9 rebounds, 3 blocks
3. C.J. Watson: 15 points (.422 TS%), 8 assists, 2 steals

Good win. Strong win. The Celtics have almost no depth, but they’re the kind of team the Bulls will need to beat to fulfill their destiny this year in the Eastern Conference finals — Derrick Rose or not.

The best part: For the first time in a while, Luol Deng looked like the take-charge all-star he was before hurting his wrist in January. With the game on the line in the fourth quarter, he scored 12 of his 26 points and held Paul Pierce to one of his 22 points.

A one-game resurgence or evidence of a genuine rebirth? Chicago’s playoff hopes could depend on it.

Box Score

Record: 43-13, first in the NBA
Next: Sunday 4/8 at New York, 12:00 CT
