Game 17: Bulls 114, Cavaliers 75

21 Jan 2012

Three Stars
1. Luol Deng: 21 points (.711 TS%), 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks
2. Carlos Boozer: 19 points (.615 TS%), 14 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks
3. C.J. Watson: 15 points (.705 TS%), 3 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals

There will be nights like this when you’re one of the best teams in the league, when the best reaction is simply an admiring shake of the head and a rundown of the eye-popping numbers:

  • Biggest margin of home defeat in Cavaliers franchise history
  • 30.3 percent shooting and an 81.3 offensive rating for Cleveland
  • 16 blocks by nine Bulls, including six players with two or more
  • Five Bulls with at least 14 points — a mark no Cleveland player surpassed — and a 123.5 offensive rating

Yeah, the Cavs are pretty bad, but did we mention Chicago did this all without the reigning NBA MVP? Even Taj Gibson’s ankle sprain couldn’t darken the evening.

Box Score

Record: 14-3, first in the Eastern Conference
Next: Saturday 1/21 vs. Bobcats, 7:00 CT
