Game 14: Bulls 77, Raptors 64

15 Jan 2012

Three Stars
1. Derrick Rose: 18 points (.431 TS%), 4 rebounds, 11 assists, 3 steals
2. Carlos Boozer: 17 points (.551 TS%), 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block
3. Taj Gibson: 11 points (.511 TS%), 12 rebounds (5 offensive), 1 block

The offensive execution will wobble at times, especially in your fifth game in six days.

But the defense — oh, the defense will always be there for Tom Thibodeau’s Bulls, especially when the opponent, the improved but still middling Raptors, are playing without their only star.

None of the four other teams to visit Chicago this season had surpassed 74 points, and the Raptors were not close to bucking the trend. Tied after a scrappy first half, the Bulls held them to 27 points in the second half.

With Andrea Bargnani sidelined by a calf injury, Jose Calderon and old friend James Johnson were the only Raptors who shot better than 35 percent.

Just another day at the office for your Chicago Bulls.
