Game 4: Bulls 114, Clippers 101

31 Dec 2011

Three Stars
1. Derrick Rose: 29 points (.770 TS%), 8 rebounds, 16 assists
2. Joakim Noah: 19 points (.833 TS%), 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 1 block
3. Luol Deng: 19 points (.586 TS%), 8 rebounds, 2 assists

Well, that was more like it. That was impressive. That was the team we expected to see this season.

In easily their best performance and most exciting game of this opening week, the Bulls battled blow for blow with the new-look Clippers before putting the hammer down in the fourth quarter with a 10-0 run. After the toughest test of this four-game California trip, they head home for Sunday’s home opener at 3-1.

If you saw a minute of the action, you saw Derrick Rose was at his very best.

That stat line above — better even than the rousing totals put up by Chris Paul (15 points, 14 assists, 4 steals) and Blake Griffin (34 points, 13 rebounds) — gives you the general idea, but the Prince of Chicago was in brutal beauty mode throughout, the kind where you have to see every blow-by and no-look and step-back 3 for yourself to get the full picture.

Here’s hoping you didn’t miss it.

Box Score
